  • Indian Ambassador to Serbia Ms. Narinder Chauhan has presented the Government of India’s Technical and Economic Cooperation Program ITEC, which offers training for Serbian residents in the areas of accounting, financial control, banking, environmental and renewable energy, IT, telecommunications and English. It is intended for employees in the private and public sectors, government officials, chambers of commerce and the non-governmental sector. There are currently 56 different programs divided into eight areas – accounting, banking and other financial courses; environment and renewable energy sources; telecommunications and English courses; management courses; rural development; specialized courses (parliamentary studies, cross-border trade, mass communications, journalism, criminal studies,social programs); technical courses. The training usually lasts from 2 to 14 weeks. For selected candidates the cost of an economy class return airline ticket, a visa to India for the duration of the course, as well as the cost of a stay in India is covered.

2014

  • A charity concert by a dance group from India took place at the Nis Puppet Theater. It was sponsored by the Embassy of India in Serbia and the City of Nis, in collaboration with the New Delhi Cultural Council. The Dance Group arrived in Serbia at the time of the floods, so earlier scheduled performances were canceled due to circumstances. The dance group that came from India has six members. They introduced themselves to Nis audience by the “katak” Indian dance. This dance is a “dance for soul”, as guests from far India said, and it offers healing.
