Canada

2006 – 2009

  • The Canadian Government, through the Canadian International Cooperation Agency (CIDA), is financing the Primary Health Care Policy Project in the Balkans in the Republic of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project is being implemented by a consortium of the Canadian Society for International Health (CSIH) and the Queens University (QU) with the support of the team with experience and knowledge in primary health care and human resources. The governments of the two countries are the main partners in the Project. In Serbia, the key partner is the Ministry of Health. Beneficiaries of the Project are public authorities at all levels, local governments in charge of primary health care institutions, healthcare professionals and beneficiaries of health care.

2005

  • The 2nd International Conference of Canadian Studies was organized in Nis, by the Yugoslav Association for Canadian Studies, a member of the Central European Association for Canadian Studies and the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Nis.

2000

  • The Canadian Embassy in Belgrade has approved a donation of 66,000 German marks for the purchase of equipment (desks, chairs and computers) for primary and secondary schools in Nis. The furniture for the schools was purchased from the local company EI DOO Metal Nis.
