FIFTH SESSION OF SCTM PRESIDENCY

The mayors, gathered at the fifth session of the Presidency of the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities, were addressed by the Minister Slavica Djukic Dejanovic and the delegation of the People’s Republic of China. On behalf of the Chinese delegation the members SCTM Presidency were greeted by Xie Yuan, the vice president of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, one of the members of Republic of China delegation, which would, within a two-day visit to Serbia, have meetings with representatives of SCTM.

SCTM President and Mayor of Nis Darko Bulatovic stressed the importance of cooperation between Chinese and Serbian local governments and thanked the members of the Chinese delegation for a number of proposals on the modality of cooperation that could be realized in the near future. According to Mr. Bulatovic it is very important that good relations and cooperation between Serbia and China at the national level are duplicated at the local level.

The Minister without portfolio in the Government of Serbia Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic in charge of demographics and population policy took part in the work of the SCTM Presidency. She presented the future activities in the field of population policy in relation to the competencies and capabilities of local government, as well as cooperation with the SCTM in the area.




AMBASSADOR OF INDIA VISITED NIS

 

Nis City Deputy Mayor, prof. Dr. Milos Bandjur met today at Nis City Hall with Her Excellency the Ambassador of India to Serbia Narinder Chauhan. They exchanged experiences on previous cooperation between Serbia and India in the field of economy and pointed out that despite the distance, and ethnic differences, the two nations were very similar bound by sincere friendship. They agreed that the visit of Prime Minister of Serbia to India, after 30 years, was historical and that the steps were already made towards further improvement of economic cooperation between the two countries. Also the cooperation of the City of Nis with the Embassy of India in the field of tourism, culture, education and economy was discussed. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of India in collaboration with the Ministry of European Integration implements ITEC program in various fields, such as accounting, financial control, banking and finance, environmental protection and renewable energy, IT, telecommunications, English language and others. On the occasion of this visit the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation were presented.
